The Winslow Spa and Boutique Hotel
The Winslow Spa welcomes all guests into its luxurious and breathtaking lobby and reception area. The Winslow Spa offers many services in it beautifully detailed spaces that include locally sourced furniture from coffee tables, to sofas, to lounge seating. The materials throughout have been carefully selected based off sustainability and to match the aesthetic of the Winslow Hotel. Throughout the design, a variety of green materials and finishes are used throughout. A cork flooring that mimics a white oak will be used in the main areas including lobby and reception, corridors, the Spa Lounge, and Massage Therapy rooms. The Spa maintains a boutique feel throughout with deep emerald green and black tones, while being offset with the white oak cork flooring.
The design for the Winslow Hotel is centered around rest and relaxation. When guests stay at the Winslow, they can expect to escape reality for the duration of their stay while being accommodated by top-of-the-line amenities such as complimentary on-site spa services, 24-hour fitness and business centers, exceptional security, and a private café serving up local cuisine. When guests are done enjoying the hotel’s many amenities, they will be welcomed into comfort and relaxation upon entering their overnight suite. Each suite was designed to be the guest’s home away from home by including comforting amenities such as a wet bar kitchenette, full living area, luxuriously plush beds, a complete spa-like bathroom, along with the breathtaking views of downtown Fargo in each room. If the comforts and amenities of the Winslow Hotel are not already enough to swoon over, guests are sure to admire the beautiful historic architecture and design details displayed throughout the Historic Ford Building in which the Winslow Hotel is conveniently located, alongside the charming downtown Fargo district.

The Alder Residence
The luxurious 8,500 sq. ft. Alder Residence was designed for Memphis Jack Alder II, a clothing designer in the TriBeca area of New York City. Material selection was important as we had a focus of a client facing the effects of multiple sclerosis. Although he does not yet majorly effected by the disease, there is potential for long terms effects. Cork flooring was implemented to help with tension in joints, as well as low-pile rugs to eliminate tripping hazards.

High wattage LED lighting was used throughout the condominium assisting in visual impairments, along with a high contrast color scheme utilizing white and black throughout.

Through online research and conducting interviews with luxury interior designers, I was able to design this beautiful and open concept condominium for Memphis Alder to age in place.

Jean-Michel Cousteau's Ocean Futures Society
This project was an office space designed for the non-profit, the Ocean Futures Society. The responsibilities as the interior designer for this specific project consist of creating a safe and comfortable environment for The Ocean Future’s Society staff, designing an open concept that feels inviting for everyone while using glass walls to endorse collaborating in the work space, as well as, creating an enviroment that reminds the staff of the great work they have done in the past and what they are continuing to do on the day-to-day basis.

Cloud Sunnies is a retail women’s sunglasses store that sells middle to high end sunglasses. To showcase their beautiful products, layered lighting is key to the space. The lighting is designed to enhance the products and focus their placement on each floating glass shelf. The Cloud Sunnies boutique creates a show stopping atmosphere with a color scheme of black, white, and accents of red. The boutique makes use of reflective material to mirror the sunlight that is brought in from the large glass entry doors.

The existing studio for 1st and 2nd year interior design students at NDSU has issues with acoustics and lighting that can be solved by implementing innovative design solutions. Some of these issues include shadow effects created by lack of lighting in some areas of the studio. These shadows or darker portions of the overall studio include areas near the front of the classroom along the whiteboard wall, the west end of the studio near the lockers,
and along the perimeter. The current acoustical situation is not in any means poor, regarding the existing acoustical materials in the space. The acoustic ceiling tile and waffle slab are great choices for acoustics; however, the aesthetics and innovative design is severely lacking. My goal for this project was to update the current lighting and acoustical choices.

New Oasis is a Veterans living community that I teamed up with Carolyn Hoffman and Parker Johnson to design. The New Oasis Veterans Living Community is designed to be a social sustainable environment while showcasing it’s modern and airy design. The idea of an Oasis is important in this space as these veterans return home, the goal is for them to feel welcomed. These Veterans will come home to a space that will make them feel as if they just left the desert to find an oasis. The community will consist of sustainable material choices as well as sustainable furniture. For social sustainability, there will be open seating areas throughout the corridor to encourage conversation and gatherings while still maintaining physical distancing. A major focus will be the overall safety and happiness of the Veterans living within the community.
